My first contact with Dennis came via a rummage sale clock – shaped like a tea kettle, with the genuine brass worn off and a price tag of $1.00. It was a gift to me for my new office. And so it began…an exchange of thank you notes that left us all in stitches. When I finally did meet Dennis and Margaret I learned that get togethers were always a time to laugh, joke and tease and that joy is something I won’t forget. I think it took about 5 minutes to see the strong bond between Margaret and Dennis – they are truly best friends in every sense of the word. And on those rare occasions when we did talk about being parents and grandparents, nothing was more serious than his love of his children.
My last gift from Dennis was a two headed wiener dog salt and pepper shaker – another garage sale keepsake marked at .25. I hope he knew that he was the real treasure. May he rest in perfect love and perfect peace.
And to Margaret and all of his family, please know that we are holding you all in our hearts and thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Lynne and Tom Oswald
