Diane (Deist) Patterson's Obituary
Diane (Deist) Patterson age 68, of Wild Rose, passed away peacefully at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
Diane was born September 6th, 1951 in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of the late Jim Deist and mother, Jo Anne Martin. She married the love of her life Dennis Patterson January 27th, 1978 in Wautoma.
She attended Fort Atkinson High School and later graduated from UW- Whitewater with a degree in geography. After college she became a teacher’s aide in the Wild Rose School District and then was the elementary special education teacher for 35 years until the time of her retirement. Diane enjoyed working as a teacher which gave her great joy to help children and the community. Besides spending time with family, friends and going on family vacations, she enjoyed casino trips, bingo and was an avid reader.
Diane is survived by two daughters, Paige Patterson of Brookfield, WI and Amber Patterson of New Berlin, WI; Grandsons, Leo and Bryce Patterson; mother Jo Ann Deist of Wild Rose; sister Laurie (Daniel) Steffens of Wild Rose; brothers, Tom (Carla), Pat, and Tim (Dawn) Deist all of Wild Rose along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Besides her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Jones.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Holly funeral home in Wild Rose. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Wild Rose.
To say that she made an impact on the lives of many is an understatement. She will be missed not just by her family, but by everyone she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred for a memorial in Diane’s name at the Patterson Memorial Library.
