He was a guiding force in my life like all my Helbach Uncles and Aunts. I was about 4 years old and can still remember some moments at his wedding. I will never forget when the Pooches went to Milwaukee and he took us to see the Braves; they lost but Eddie Matthews hit a home run. Wow, the times at their farm together with family growing up, haying and swinging on ropes in the hay mow with Mike, brother Bob sliding down the hay stack right into the chute and onto a calf, Mike and I putting up electric fence across the road and coming back with about 25 wood ticks each, picking rock for the new septic, etc. Later in life - Carol and I will never forget he was one of the group that came the long distance for our wedding, and I was amazed at his knowledge of sports teams over the years and enjoyed seeing him at the family events. We miss his presence in our lives but he will always be a part of us. George Pooch.
