Elmer L. Peterson's Obituary
Elmer "Chunky" L. Peterson, age 81, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2025 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Appleton, WI He was born in Wautoma, WI on June 19, 1944, a son of the late Irving and Viola (Raymond) Peterson.
He married Janet Bestul on December 18, 1965 in Waupaca
Chunky was a loving husband, he loved his daughter and his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed spending time mowing the lawn, being in his shop and going to the Truck Stop every Saturday morning. Chunky had been going to the Iola Car Show every year since it started. He had worked for General Tree, moving jobs for Winters, drove a route with a garbage truck, Moore O Matic, the charcoal plant, Neuville Motors, Waupaca Elevator and Wendt Motors.
Survivors include his Wife: Janet Peterson, Waupaca, Wisconsin; Daughter: Annette Peterson, Waupaca; Granddaughters: Sabrina (Colt) Peterson, Waupaca; Patience Peterson, Waupaca; Autumn (Patrick) Peterson, Waupaca; Great-Grandchildren: Ariana Buchanan; Maya Buchanan; Braden Buchanan; Naveen Krebs; Mila Samson and Lyla Samson; Brother: James Peterson, Waupaca; Sister: Judy (Robert) Boelter, Waupaca; Brother-in-law: Neil Kovac, Waupaca; Sisters-in-law: Mavis Peterson, Waupaca; Margaret "Linda" Peterson, Waupaca; Mary Peterson, Waupaca. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents Irving and Viola Peterson; a daughter Tanya Peterson; four brothers Delmer Peterson Sr., Irving Peterson, Charles "Chuck" Peterson, and Donald Peterson; one sister Geraldine "Gerri" Kovac.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, with Reverend Dr. Charles Tews, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Park Cemetery, Town of St. Lawrence, Waupaca Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
