Gilbert "Gil" Jansen's Obituary
Gilbert "Gil" T. Jansen passed away Thurs day, May 12, 2022 at his daughter's residence in Fairmount, Indiana.
Gil was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Raymond and Marion (Jorgensen) Jansen on June 19, 1930. He married Josephine "Jo" Cascio on July 18, 1953. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2012.
After their retirement he and Jo moved to Waupaca where they spent 30+ years. Gil loved festivals, polka music, parades, drives in the country and gardening. He was especially fond of telling stories of his youth spent with his grandparents on their farm in Waupaca. His love of gardening grew from those days on the farm and he produced a nice garden every year. His friends and neighbors were glad recipients of his harvest. He was very sharp, had a witty sense of humor and loved visits with friends.
Gil is survived by his daughter Barbara (Jack) Morgan, Fairmount, IN. ; two granddaughters Amber Howard, Fairmount, IN and April (Marcus) Howard-Dewey Peoria, AZ.; Great granddaughters Alisha Howard, Gas City, IN and Alyssa Dillon, Peoria, AZ and many good friends.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Gary J. Howard.
Visitation will be June 2, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca, WI from 10 AM to 11AM, the service to follow with pastor Erin Coutts officiating. Burial will be at Belmont Cemetery.
