Jim became my roommate at the Vallhaven Care Center in Neenah when he was in rehabilitation for his leg and hip injury. We had many a conversation about the Battleship USS North Carolina of the Washington Class and looked up photographs on my computer. Jim kept a daily journal which I hope the family has found and kept. It would certainly be a good window on Jim's life. He worked diligently on his goal to stand up from his power chair with the aid of a grab bar. Jim was able to return home to Joyce after having a wheelchair ramp and other accessibility modifications added to the house on Byrd Avenue. His employment at Miller Electric, of which he was very proud, was often a topic of
discussion, telling me he had worked in every division of the company Our time together is a very pleasant memory,
