B. John "Hap" Harris, age 61, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. Hap was born in Waupaca on April 6, 1954, the son of the late Earl and Leona (Sheveland) H Read Obituary
I worked with Barry John Harris at Husky Charcoal plant in the late 1970's prior to me working at the Railroad for many years. Depending on where you were at people called Mr. Harris Barry, John, or Hap. As others have mentioned Hap was an all around great person. David Shanklin Cyber Attack Survivor, Amherst, WI
John Hap Harris was a cool dude. I had a lot of good bs sessions with him when he was the mixologist at the Wheelhouse on the Chain O lakes near King, Wi. Hap always had a knack to make people feel cheered up (hence the name Hap). It was always interesting to discuss the Waupaca/ Chain O Lakes area with him. May God rest his soul. I will remember John "Hap" Harris in my prayers.
Years ago my husband John and I used to rent a cottage on Minor Lake. We would go to the Wheel House for a cocktail or two. That's where we met Hap. We loved his dry sense of humor.
In August we got to say hello and good-by to Hap.
You will be missed.

Gonna miss seeing you, Hap...
I met Hap when I was 15 and a bus girl at Simpson's. He made me laugh even back then at such a young age. I moved away when I was 22 but always looked forward to coming home and have him make me his famous Margarita and listen to his funny humor and jokes...always one of the bright and memorable parts of my visit. So, Hap, you will appreciate this....someone recently asked me what your real name was.....you were just always HAP....I couldn't remember this "John" name. :) You were one of the best and so greatly missed by so many. I am glad you are now at peace.
