Karen L. Lynne's Obituary
Karen Lynne passed away February 13, 2026, at her beloved home in Amherst, Wisconsin. Karen spent her career helping those in need in nursing and making her patients feel a bit better with a smile. She found her sanctuary in the garden and dirt under her nails and sunshine on her face brought her joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Coady Ostrowski, who carries forward her strength, intelligence, and humor. Jason, aka Red, whom she called her adopted son, who always gave her support. Karen also leaves behind her brother Pat Pflugardt and sister-in-law Lorraine Pflugardt and her sister Bobbette Plowman. She also loved and was loved by her close friends, Char, Bernice, Bonnie, and Tammy. She is also survived by her former spouse, Donald Ostrowski, father to Coadylynn and Nathan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elaine Pflugardt, her dear brother James Pflugardt, and her son Nathan Ostrowski, whom she loved deeply and was incredibly close to, who passed away in 2024. The bond they shared was profound, and though her heart carried that loss, her love for him never wavered. We take comfort in imagining their reunion.
While her life was not always easy, Karen lived authentically and made no apologies for being exactly who she was.
In her honor, plant something beautiful. Stand up for what you believe in. Say the witty remark. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
