LaVerne was my angel! Bernie Schmitt sent her to me and said she needed some help, so I became her helper and friend. She didn't know that she gave me as much as I helped her. She was a storage house of stories, and really good information. She made me laugh, she knew what was wrong with people just by the few things that I told her about them. Her experience as a nurse gave her these gifts to share and I appreciated hearing her advice. I needed a part time job and LaVerne was it! She helped me through a tough time in my life and I will always be grateful for that. I wish I had not moved away so I could have done more for her.
