Margaret "Marge" R. Iwanski's Obituary
Margaret (Marge) R. Iwanski, age 86, of Amherst Junction, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her children. Margaret was born on September 20, 1934 to the late Edward Sr and Josephine (Wanta) Konkol. She married Jerome (Jerry) Iwanski on June 2, 1956 at St. Mary Mount Carmel Parish and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2011.
Marge is survived by her children Diane (Robert) Biadasz, Christine Skerven, David (Liane) Iwanski, and Mary (William) Andrae; daughter-in-law Jane Iwanski; grandchildren Amy (Tim) Tryba, Lisa (Nathan) Grezenski, Megan (Matt) Check, Nicholas (Jaimie) Skerven, Colin Iwanski, Serena (Significant Other Joseph Firkus) Iwanski, Alexis Iwanski, Kathryn Andrae, William Andrae, her surviving siblings James Konkol, Mary Jane Klement, Edward (Celia) Konkol Jr., Irene Slowinski, Grace (Lawrence) Gibbs, George (Judy) Konkol; brother-in-law Theodore Kaminski; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, and their son Marvin, her siblings, Natalie Kaminski, Maynard Konkol, and Patricia (Emil) Polum, grandson Michael Biadasz; sister-in-law Arlene Konkol; brother-in-law William Klement.
Marge worked as a dedicated “lunch lady” at the Amherst School district for 20 years and she enjoyed farming with her husband. Marge enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing, bowling, gardening, long walks, playing cards, (especially sheepshead) fishing, volunteering, and was an active member of St. Mary Mount Carmel parish.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 14 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. and Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Mount Carmel Parish on Monday, March 15 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Christian burial at the church cemetery. Visitation will also be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Rosary and Divine Chaplet will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday at the Church. To honor Marge and her love of the color blue, we invite those attending to dress in blue. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Mary of Mt.
