As the oldest grandchild, I am deeply saddened by this loss. After losing my father and grandmother as a teenager, it's hard to lose the final elder in my life. My daughter, Emily DeVincentis, who was not included in the obituary and she is the oldest of the great-grandchildren, did not get an opportunity to meet Grandpa Matz. We all say and wish we could go back in time and say/do things differently and this aspect will trouble me. I can only hope and believe that my Dad and Grandma and Grandpa Matz will understand and will continue to look down and be proud of her thoughout her life.
