Mary T. Burgess, age 67, of Redgranite, formerly of Waupaca, passed away on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born in Romulus, NY, on August 10, 1946, a daughter of the late Edmund and Alice (Burke) Sca Read Obituary

First time I met Mary she was sitting in her and Les's little truck when he brought their discards over to put in the burn pit. She didn't get out but we talked and she seemed like such a sweet lady. Les came over quite often but Mary preferred to stay home. When she came running down the road without her walker, after breaking her ankle, to get help for Les we were amazed at how fast she could run with a broken ankle. We tried to revive Les but could not. I just remember how accepting Mary was and how worried she was about all her children, family, and friends. She talked about all their plans they had made the night before Les passed. They were moving to Wisconsin to be by their family. They even had been collecting boxes. She tried so hard to be brave and only cried when she thought I was sleeping. During those few days I gained a wonderful friend and wished I had gone to visit with her more often. She was such a sweet woman and was so proud of her children and loved them so much. She is now with her love for life, Les, making plans in Heaven. May God Bless her family as they go forth with the knowledge that, even though they cannot see her physical prescence, Mary is always watching over them.
