Hi, I live in Clear Lake, Iowa and lived next door to Mike and worked with him at Sperry. I also was friends with Kathy. I was looking at our local newspaper and seen Kathy's mother had died. In reading the obit, imagine my shock to see that Mike had died. I am so very sorry for your loss. Mike was such a wonderful and fun person. He always had a huge smile for everyone. I can hear his laugh as I am typing this. I don't know who will get this message but I thought I would try it. I will try to look Kathy up if she is still here in Clear Lake. Please share this with her just in case I can't locate her. My name is Tammy Westover Boeshart. They would remember me by my maiden name, Westover. I was married in 1993 and he passed away in a car accident in 2003 and was only 31 years old. So I am no stranger to death. Once again, please accept my much belated condolonces.

So sorry for your loss. I just recently heard about Mike's passing. My heartfelt condolences.
I first met Mike at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI, where we both graduated in the Class of 1978 with an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology. Mike talked me into going to an interview at Sperry-Univac in Minneapolis for several positions they had open at the time. We ended up accepting jobs there and agreed to share an apartment together along with Kurt Harrington. When an opportunity arose to move to Clear Lake, IA to open a new plant, all three of us volunteered. Mike was my neighbor in Clear Lake for a few years. We enjoyed partying and I remember once he treated me to an awesome fish dinner from one of his recent catches. I also remember when Mike gave me a tour of the Chain of Lakes in the Waupaca area on a pontoon boat. I remember meeting his mom and dad at the time too.
Mike honored my wife Eva and I as a Groomsman in our wedding.
We shared alot of laughs together and I regret that we drifted apart after Unisys closed the Clear Lake operations as many of us went our separate ways. I first heard of his MS affliction when we talked last at the Unisys Test renunion party that was held in Clear Lake a few years ago. It was great to see him, but also sad to know of his troubles with the disease.
I will always hold good memories of Mike and the fun we had together in our youth. He truly was a great guy with a big heart.
We will miss him.
