Richard "Dick" B. Anderson's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, we are announcing the passing of Richard (Dick) B. Anderson on February 16, 2025. Born on March 1, 1945, he was the son of the late Oliver and Buenetta (Graichen) Anderson. Dick was a devoted husband to Kathy (Krueger) Anderson, whom he married on January 15, 1977. As a loving husband, supportive father, cherished grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be remembered for his strong strength of character, his commitment to his family, and his love of Christ that was evident in all that he did.
As a lifelong member of the Wild Rose community, Dick enjoyed competing in sports, whether it was during his high school years or in his adult years, where he enjoyed hitting home runs in summer leagues. After earning his Bachelor of Science from UW-Oshkosh, Dick followed his true passion for carpentry, which he learned from his father. He was the owner/operator of Anderson Construction, where he took great joy in serving his customers, many of whom became lifelong friends. Dick also had a deep love for hunting and the outdoors. He spent many falls as a hunting guide near the mountains of Meeker, Colorado. Dick shared his adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature with his family. Even after a life altering stroke in his forties, he continued working and even hunting up until his last year of life. This is a testament to his strength and perseverance. Dick’s advice and joyful laughter will always be remembered and greatly missed especially while hunting at the farm. Dick’s grandchildren will fondly remember the countless summers they all spent together on Little Silver Lake, where they learned to fish, catch tadpoles and enjoy family.
Dick was an active member of Waushara Community Church. His faith and commitment to God shined through in all aspects of his life. He enjoyed and learned so much from his friendships and through fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Dick will be dearly missed by those that loved him. He is survived by his wife; Kathy, children; Tammi Schellin, Todd (Linda) Anderson, Jennifer (Keith) Erickson, Melissa (Marty) Weasner, grandchildren; Nicholas (Cayley) Erickson, Kylee (Jacob) Lund, Bryce Erickson, Tanner Schellin, Carissa Erickson, Caleb (Carlee) Weasner, Austin Erickson, Gage Anderson, Tyler Schellin, great-granddaughter; Josie Lund, along with many other relatives and friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
