Robert W. Petrusa's Obituary
Better known to most as Grandpa, Robert W. Petrusa of Wild Rose, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017 at his home in Wild Rose at the age of 94 with his family by his side. He was born in Rockdale, IL on August 14, 1922.
He married Bernice Molesky on April 22, 1944 ahead of his deployment to the European Theater during World War II at Camp Pickett, VA. Robert served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of W.W. II. Before moving to Wild Rose, he was longtime resident of the Joliet, IL area working at Honiotes Brothers Food Mart as a butcher. He was active in the local community and politics, with a passion for travel over his lifetime. He instilled this passion in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: a son, Robert Petrusa; three grandsons, Zachary, Matthew and Joshua Baitinger; two granddaughters, Kate and Annie Petrusa and 5 great grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob, Stella, Ezra and Reese. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice and his daughter, Diane.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life on Monday, June 26th from 4-7pm at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, WI. Interment will occur at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the VFW Post 1037 in Waupaca, WI directly.
