Roger F. Otto's Obituary
Roger F. Otto, age 62 of Almond, WI passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield with his family by his side. Roger was born August 22, 1952 in Stevens Point the son of the late Franklin and Marie (Klabunde) Otto. He graduated from Almond-Bancroft School and Mid-State Technical in WI Rapids. His marriage to Peggy Robinson took place on June 3, 1972 in Almond. After their marriage they remained in Almond and have been life long members of the village ever since. Roger was a Diesel Mechanic and Truck Driver all of his life. He spent 22 years with Pagel Construction as an Operating Engineer Local 139 employee. He also was a past member of the Almond Lions Club, Almond Sno-Eagles Club, Almond Village Board member and served 30 plus years on the Almond Fire Department. He loved spending time with his family, riding his "Fat Boy" motorcycle, Nascar Racing, watching Western Movies, tinkering and driving his '76 Monte Carlo and working in his shop. He especially enjoyed designing and painting his own vehicles.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Almond; two sons: Gregrey of Almond and Jeffrey of Plover; three grandchildren, Sydney, Beau and Rydyr Otto; a sister, Patricia Casey (Stan Hall) of Bancroft; his brother, Gary of Almond; sisters-in-law, June Polus of Ripon, Virginia (Joe) Hoinack, Berlin; Mary (Wayne) Hay Alpharetta, GA; brothers-in-law, Harlan (Rita) Robinson, Plainfield, George (Jane) Robinson, Plainfield, and James (Dawn) Robinson, Rome and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Marie Otto and a brother-in-law, John Robinson.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, August 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Almond with Pastor Brian Roehrborn, officiating. Burial will follow at the Almond Village Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 - 7 PM on Friday evening at the church and from 9:30 until the time of the service. Hardell-Holly Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
