Sallee S. Kowalczyk's Obituary
Sallee S. Kowalczyk, 84, of Green Bay, formerly of Chicago and Wild Rose, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Sallee was born on September 5, 1931, daughter of the late Frank and Halina (Zagrzejewska) Kwiatkowski.
In her youth, Sallee attended the Goodman School of Drama at the Art Institute of Chicago, with aspirations of working behind the scenes in the direction and production of performances. She had a beautiful singing voice, and as a child sang on the radio. Her entire family anxiously awaited their birthday phone call when she would sing to them. Sallee was also a tremendous trivia player and was known by various Chicago area radio stations for winning numerous on-air trivia contests. Sallee loved her family dearly and took great pride in the accomplishments and successes of both her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed as the communications center of her family.
Sallee is survived by: daughters Leslie (Roger) Jones, Sandra (David Harper) Kowalczyk, Kathy (Dean Stadel) Kowalczyk, and Laura (Gary Abromaitis) Kowalczyk; son Bob (Michelle) Kowalczyk; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Sallee is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents; ex-husband Norbert; son Joseph; sister Christina Kwiatkowski; and brothers Matthew Koski, Henry Kwiatkowski, and Teddy Kwiatkowski.
A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Holly Funeral Home, 526 S. MAIN ST., WAUPACA, with Fr. Xavier Santiago officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Private burial Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Town of Rose.
